الْعَدْل
The One of infinite justice, who never wrongs anyone.
Reciting a name as many times as its abjad value is a common custom; it is neither fard nor wajib. In the Dua Kitaplığı app's dhikr counter, this name comes ready with its target count.
Adl means the One of absolute justice; injustice is unthinkable for Him. His justice is seen not only in punishment but in putting everything in its proper place. It is the name that tells us that even a decree a person does not understand is in fact just.
In the Quran: Surah an-Nisa, verse 40, says: “Indeed, Allah does not wrong anyone even by the weight of an atom.”
It means the One who does everything in its proper place and does not wrong anyone even by the weight of an atom. It declares that He is also the One who sets the measure of justice.
It is commonly recited with the intention of receiving one’s due, being able to act justly and being freed from injustice. There is no fixed number requirement.
