About Us
Dua Kitaplığı is a digital archive founded to bring together the texts of duas, dhikr and salawat in one place, each with its source.
Our reason for building this site is simple: most of the dua texts circulating online are unsourced, incomplete or copied from one another. The Arabic is often written incorrectly, transliterations are inconsistent, and virtues are passed on without saying which book they come from. We publish every dua together with the source it comes from.
How we prepare the content
We cite the source.
At the end of every dua you will find the work it was taken from. For duas from the hadith collections we give the place in Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and the like; for duas from the Quran, the surah and verse number; for texts taken from compilations, the volume and page number.
We give the Arabic with full vowel marks. The Arabic originals are written with their vowel marks to make them easy to read. The texts are transferred from the source work, not copied from other websites.
We write out the transliteration.
For those who cannot read Arabic, a transliteration in Latin letters is provided.
We write the meaning in our own words.
The meanings are not quoted from ready-made translations; they are rewritten while staying faithful to the sense of the text.
On virtues, we stay with the source.
Whatever the source says about the virtue of a dua is what we pass on. No promise or report that is not in the source is added.
What we are careful about
In religious texts, a single wrong letter can change the meaning. For that reason, no text we are not sure of is published. If the Arabic of a dua cannot be read clearly, or its source is doubtful, that dua is not added to the site.
The information about virtues on this site is given as it is reported in the source works. It does not replace expert opinion. Duas for illness are not an alternative to seeing a doctor; the two should go together.
We do not publish on behalf of any community, order or institution. We do not represent any particular view; our aim is to deliver the texts correctly.
What you will find on the site
- Duas — duas for daily life, illness, hardship and travel
- Dhikr — tasbih, dhikr of tawhid, morning and evening litanies
- Salawat — Salat an-Nariyah, Salat al-Munjiyah, Salat al-Fatih and others
- Ilahis — Turkish hymns with their lyrics and videos (in Turkish)
- Topic sections — sections arranged by need, such as healing, protection, hardship and provision
The archive grows every day. New duas from different source works continue to be added.
Reporting a mistake
If you have noticed an error in a post, think a text has been transferred incorrectly, or have a correction about a source, please let us know. In religious texts, accuracy matters more than anything; we take every notice seriously.
