Dua for Security from Poverty

Fakirlikten Emin Olma Duası: Arapçası ve Anlamı

Explanation

This is the dua for security from poverty. In this dua, good character and good deeds are asked of Allah; it is also founded on relief from poverty, security from calamities and especially deliverance from the evil of the ego that commands evil (nafs al-ammarah). It contains seeking refuge for protection from the evil of Satan and from the desires of the ego. Since the source book does not give a Turkish translation of the dua, the meaning has been translated from the Arabic text.

Meaning

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah! Set my affairs in order and make my deeds beautiful; save me from the pain of poverty and humiliation. Save me from calamity, misfortune and plague, from the evil of enemies and of the misleading devils, and from the ego that commands evil. O Allah! Make me among the righteous who worship You and among the wealthy who give thanks. Grant us ease in bringing order and harmony to all our affairs of this world and the Hereafter. Fulfill our wishes for good; keep us far from evil, disobedience, sins, both major and minor. Bring me close to You through righteous deeds, truthfulness and protection from sin, and make me among the righteous. O Allah! Make our lives easy with righteous deeds, divine knowledge (ma’rifah), learning, and beneficial virtue concerning the realities and subtleties. Illuminate my heart with the lights of that knowledge and those sciences that are well known among the gnostics and the scholars who verify the truth. At the end of my life, at the moment of death, illuminate me with the light of faith so that I may say: “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.” May Allah’s blessings be upon him, his family and all his companions.
