Dua During Strong Wind and Storms
Explanation
This is the dua recited when a strong wind blows. Peoples of the past such as ‘Ad and Thamud were destroyed by wind; the Holy Quran contains the necessary explanations. In the source book the dua is given as “Allahummaj’alha rihan wa la taj’alha rayhanan”; here, the common form found in hadith sources has been used.
Dua Text
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا رِيَاحًا وَلَا تَجْعَلْهَا رِيحًا
Transliteration
Allahummaj’alha riyahan wa la taj’alha rihan.
Meaning
O Allah, make it a wind (that brings mercy), and do not make it a wind (of punishment).
