Tasbih of Prophet Ya’qub

Explanation
This tasbih is attributed to Prophet Ya’qub (Jacob, peace be upon him). Unlike the other prophets’ tasbihs, it takes the form of a direct plea: it asks that hope not be cut off, for help, and for repentance to be accepted. From the tongue of a prophet who was separated from his son for many years, it teaches us to keep hope alive.

Virtue
At the end of the prophets’ tasbihs, the source book says: these supplications are both duas and, each of them, a select tasbih, and their meanings are correspondingly comprehensive; the tasbihs of the prophets are tasbihs for us as well, and by keeping them up regularly we are delivered from many hardships.
