ABJAD VALUE156
RECITED WITH THE INTENTION OFRecited with the intention of being pardoned and of being able to pardon.

What does Al-Afuww mean?

Afuww means the One who pardons and erases the trace of sin. Ghafur covers the sin, while Afuww wipes it out completely; that is why pardon (afw) is regarded as going further than forgiveness (maghfirah). The dua of Laylat al-Qadr is made with this name.

In the Quran: Surah an-Nisa, verse 43, says: “Indeed, Allah is Ever-Pardoning, Most Forgiving.”
