As’alullahal-‘Azima Rabbal-‘Arshil-‘Azimi an yashfiyak, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, la ilaha illallahu lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamd, la ilaha illallahu wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-‘Aliyyil-‘Azim.
Meaning
I ask Allah, the Mighty, the Lord of the Mighty Throne, to heal you. There is no god but Him; He is One and has no partner. There is no god but Him; His is the dominion and His is the praise. There is no god but Him; all might and power belong only to Allah, the Most High, the Mighty.
What Is Asked in This Dua
In this dua, the servant asks for healing from Allah, the Mighty, who is “the Lord of the Mighty Throne.” The Throne (Arsh) is an expression that recalls Allah’s majesty; the servant expects healing not from an ordinary means but from their Lord, whose rule extends over all existence. The first sentence of the dua is a request, and the rest is an affirmation of tawhid.
The servant repeats that there is no god but Allah, that He is One and without partner, and that dominion and praise belong to Him alone. Finally, they say that all might and power belong only to Allah, the Most High, the Mighty. In this way, the sick person settles in their heart that both recovery and illness happen only by Allah’s power, and asks Him for healing. This short dua, woven with declarations of tawhid, helps the sick person tie their hope to Allah alone.
