Meaning

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, You who give and never reproach anyone for what You have given! O Possessor of Majesty and Honor! O Possessor of power and blessings! There is no god but You; You alone exist. O Helper of those who hope, O Shelter of those who seek refuge, O Safety of those who fear, O Guide of the bewildered, O Rescuer of those who cry for help, and Most Merciful of the merciful! O Allah, if You have written my name in the Preserved Tablet (al-Lawh al-Mahfuz) as wretched and evil, remove the name of wretchedness from me. And if You have written my name with You as deprived and my provision as scarce, erase it and increase my provision; write me as rich, grant me success in what is good, and widen and increase my provision. For You have said in the Holy Quran: “Allah erases what He wills and leaves what He wills, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.” My God, on Laylat al-Bara’ah, in the middle of the month of Sha’ban, make Your sublime manifestation appear, O Allah; that blessed night of which it is said: “On that night every wise matter is made distinct by a command from Us.” Remove from me the afflictions I know and those I do not know, O Allah. Forgive my faults that You know. For You are the Mighty, the Generous. May Allah’s mercy be upon our master Muhammad and upon his family and companions.
