Surah At-Takathur

أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ﴿١﴾

Elhakümüt tekasür

“The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things)”

حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ ﴿٢﴾

Hatta zürtümülmekabir

“Until ye visit the graves”

كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿٣﴾

Kella sevfe ta´lemun

“But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality)”

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿٤﴾

Sümme kella sevfe ta´lemun

“Again, ye soon shall know”

كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ﴿٥﴾

Kella lev ta´lemune ılmel yekıyn

“Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware)”

لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ ﴿٦﴾

Le teravünnelcehıym

“Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire”

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ﴿٧﴾

Sümme leteravünneha aynelyakıyn

“Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight”

ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ﴿٨﴾

Sümme le tüs´elünne yevmeizin anin neıym

“Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in)”
