Surah Al-Ghashiyah

هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡغَٰشِيَةِ ﴿١﴾

Hel etake hadiysülğaşiyeti

“Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)”

وُجُوهࣱ يَوۡمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ ﴿٢﴾

Vücuhün yevmeizin haşi´atün

“Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated”

عَامِلَةࣱ نَّاصِبَةࣱ‏ ﴿٣﴾

´Amiletün nasıbetün

“Labouring (hard), weary”

تَصۡلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةࣰ‏ ﴿٤﴾

Tasla naren hamiyeten

“The while they enter the Blazing Fire”

تُسۡقَىٰ مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ ءَانِيَةࣲ‏ ﴿٥﴾

Tüska min ´aynin aniyetin

“The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring”

لَّيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعࣲ‏ ﴿٦﴾

Leyse lehüm ta´amün illa min dariy´ın

“No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari”

لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِن جُوعࣲ‏ ﴿٧﴾

La yüsminü ve la yuğniy min cu´ın

“Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger”

وُجُوهࣱ يَوۡمَئِذࣲ نَّاعِمَةࣱ‏ ﴿٨﴾

Vücuhün yevmeizin na´ımetün

“(Other) faces that Day will be joyful”

لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةࣱ‏ ﴿٩﴾

Lisa´yiha radıyetün

“Pleased with their striving”

فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةࣲ‏ ﴿١٠﴾

Fiy cennetin ´aliyetin

“In a Garden on high”

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةࣰ‏ ﴿١١﴾

La tesme´u fiyha lağıyeten

“Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity”

فِيهَا عَيۡنࣱ جَارِيَةࣱ‏ ﴿١٢﴾

Fiyha ´aynün cariyetün

“Therein will be a bubbling spring”

فِيهَا سُرُرࣱ مَّرۡفُوعَةࣱ‏ ﴿١٣﴾

Fiyha sürürin merfu´atün

“Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high”

وَأَكۡوَابࣱ مَّوۡضُوعَةࣱ‏ ﴿١٤﴾

Ve ekvabün mevdu´atün

“Goblets placed (ready)”

وَنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوفَةࣱ‏ ﴿١٥﴾

Ve nemariku masfufetün

“And cushions set in rows”

وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبۡثُوثَةٌ ﴿١٦﴾

Ve zerabiyyü mebsusetün

“And rich carpets (all) spread out”

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ ﴿١٧﴾

Efela yenzurune ilel´ibilli keyfe hulikat

“Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made”

وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ ﴿١٨﴾

Ve ilessemai keyfe rufi´at

“And at the Sky, how it is raised high”

وَإِلَى ٱلۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ ﴿١٩﴾

Ve ilelcibali keyfe nusıbet

“And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm”

وَإِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ ﴿٢٠﴾

Ve ilel´ardı keyfe sutihat

“And at the Earth, how it is spread out”

فَذَكِّرۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرࣱ‏ ﴿٢١﴾

Fezekkir innema ente müzekkirün

“Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish”

لَّسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِم بِمُصَيۡطِرٍ ﴿٢٢﴾

Leste´aleyhim bimusaytırin

“Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs”

إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ ﴿٢٣﴾

İlla men tevella ve kefere

“But if any turn away and reject God”

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرَ ﴿٢٤﴾

Feyü´azzibühullahül´azabel´ekbere

“God will punish him with a mighty Punishment”

إِنَّ إِلَيۡنَآ إِيَابَهُمۡ ﴿٢٥﴾

İnne ileyna iyabehüm

“For to Us will be their return”

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُم ﴿٢٦﴾

Sümme inne ´aleyna hısabehüm

“Then it will be for Us to call them to account”
