Surah Al-Jathiyah

حمٓ ﴿١﴾

Ha mım

“Ha-Mim”

تَنزِيلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ ﴿٢﴾

Tenzılül kitabi minellahil azızil hakım

“The revelation of the Book is from God the Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom”

إِنَّ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ لَأٓيَٰتࣲ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ﴿٣﴾

İnne fis semavati vel erdı le ayatil lil mü´minın

“Verily in the heavens and the earth, are Signs for those who believe”

وَفِي خَلۡقِكُمۡ وَمَا يَبُثُّ مِن دَآبَّةٍ ءَايَٰتࣱ لِّقَوۡمࣲ يُوقِنُونَ ﴿٤﴾

Ve fı halkıküm ve ma yebüssü min dabbetin ayatül li kavmiy yukınun

“And in the creation of yourselves and the fact that animals are scattered (through the earth), are Signs for those of assured Faith”

وَٱخۡتِلَٰفِ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن رِّزۡقࣲ فَأَحۡيَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا وَتَصۡرِيفِ ٱلرِّيَٰحِ ءَايَٰتࣱ لِّقَوۡمࣲ يَعۡقِلُونَ ﴿٥﴾

Vahtilafil leyli ven nehari ve ma enzelellahü mines semai mir rizkın fe ahya bihil erda ba´de mevtiha ve tasıfir riyahi ayatül li kavmiy ya´kılun

“And in the alternation of Night and Day, and the fact that God sends down Sustenance from the sky, and revives therewith the earth after its death, and in the change of the winds,- are Signs for those that are wise”

تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱللَّهِ نَتۡلُوهَا عَلَيۡكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثِۭ بَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ يُؤۡمِنُونَ ﴿٦﴾

Tilke ayatüllahi netluha aleyke bil hakk fe bi eyyi hadısim ba´dellahi ve ayatihı yü´minun

“Such are the Signs of God, which We rehearse to thee in Truth; then in what exposition will they believe after (rejecting) God and His Signs”

وَيۡلࣱ لِّكُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمࣲ‏ ﴿٧﴾

Veylül li külli effakin esım

“Woe to each sinful dealer in Falsehoods”

يَسۡمَعُ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسۡتَكۡبِرࣰ ا كَأَن لَّمۡ يَسۡمَعۡهَاۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمࣲ‏ ﴿٨﴾

Yesmeu ayatillahi tütla aleyhi sümme yüsırru müstekbiran ke el lem yesma´ha fe beşşirhü bi azabin elım

“He hears the Signs of God rehearsed to him, yet is obstinate and lofty, as if he had not heard them: then announce to him a Penalty Grievous”

وَإِذَا عَلِمَ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا شَيۡـًٔا ٱتَّخَذَهَا هُزُوًاۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ مُّهِينࣱ‏ ﴿٩﴾

Ve iza alime min ayatina şey´enittehazeha hüzüva ülaike lehüm azabüm mühın

“And when he learns something of Our Signs, he takes them in jest: for such there will be a humiliating Penalty”

مِّن وَرَآئِهِمۡ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَلَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُم مَّا كَسَبُواْ شَيۡـࣰٔ ا وَلَا مَا ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوۡلِيَآءَۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ ﴿١٠﴾

Miv veraihim cehennem ve la yuğnı anhüm ma kesebu şey´ev ve la mettehazu min dunillahi evliya´ ve lehüm azabün azıym

“In front of them is Hell: and of no profit to them is anything they may have earned, nor any protectors they may have taken to themselves besides God: for them is a tremendous Penalty”

هَٰذَا هُدࣰ ىۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ لَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ مِّن رِّجۡزٍ أَلِيمٌ ﴿١١﴾

Haza hüda vellezıne keferu bi ayati rabbihim lehüm azabüm mir riczin elım

“This is (true) Guidance and for those who reject the Signs of their Lord, is a grievous Penalty of abomination”

۞ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ لِتَجۡرِيَ ٱلۡفُلۡكُ فِيهِ بِأَمۡرِهِۦ وَلِتَبۡتَغُواْ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ ﴿١٢﴾

Allahüllezi sehhara lekümül bahra li tecriyel fülkü fıhi bi emrihı ve li tebteğu min fadlihı ve lealleküm teşkürun

“It is God Who has subjected the sea to you, that ships may sail through it by His command, that ye may seek of his Bounty, and that ye may be grateful”

وَسَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ جَمِيعࣰ ا مِّنۡهُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتࣲ لِّقَوۡمࣲ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ﴿١٣﴾

Ve sehhara leküm ma fis semavati ve ma fil erdı cemıam minh inne fi zalike le ayatil li kavmiy yetefekkerun

“And He has subjected to you, as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: Behold, in that are Signs indeed for those who reflect”

قُل لِّلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يَغۡفِرُواْ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يَرۡجُونَ أَيَّامَ ٱللَّهِ لِيَجۡزِيَ قَوۡمَۢا بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ ﴿١٤﴾

Kul lillezıne amenu yağfiru lillezıne la yercune eyyamellahi li yecziye kavmem bima kanu yeksibun

“Tell those who believe, to forgive those who do not look forward to the Days of God: It is for Him to recompense (for good or ill) each People according to what they have earned”

مَنۡ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحࣰ ا فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيۡهَاۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمۡ تُرۡجَعُونَ ﴿١٥﴾

Men amile salihan fe linefsih ve men esae fe aleyha sümme ila rabbiküm türceun

“If any one does a righteous deed, it ensures to the benefit of his own soul; if he does evil, it works against (his own soul). In the end will ye (all) be brought back to your Lord”

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡحُكۡمَ وَٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقۡنَٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَٰتِ وَفَضَّلۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿١٦﴾

Ve le kad ateyna benı israılel kitabe vel hukme ven nübüvvete ve razaknahüm minet tayyibati ve faddalnahüm alel alemın

“We did aforetime grant to the Children of Israel the Book the Power of Command, and Prophethood; We gave them, for Sustenance, things good and pure; and We favoured them above the nations”

وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم بَيِّنَٰتࣲ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِۖ فَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُوٓاْ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡعِلۡمُ بَغۡيَۢا بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقۡضِي بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ ﴿١٧﴾

Ve ateynahüm beyyinatim minel emr femahtelefu illa mim ba´di ma caehümül ılmü bağyem beynehüm inne rabbeke yakdıy beynehüm yevmel kıyameti fıma kanu fıhi yahtelifun

“And We granted them Clear Signs in affairs (of Religion): it was only after knowledge had been granted to them that they fell into schisms, through insolent envy among themselves. Verily thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Judgment as to those matters in which they set up differences”

ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَٰكَ عَلَىٰ شَرِيعَةࣲ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِ فَٱتَّبِعۡهَا وَلَا تَتَّبِعۡ أَهۡوَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿١٨﴾

Sümme cealnake ala şarıatim minel emri fettebı´ha ve la tettebı´ ehvaellezıne la ya´lemun

“Then We put thee on the (right) Way of Religion: so follow thou that (Way), and follow not the desires of those who know not”

إِنَّهُمۡ لَن يُغۡنُواْ عَنكَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيۡـࣰٔ اۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضࣲۖ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِيُّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ ﴿١٩﴾

İnnehüm ley yuğnu anke minellahi şey´a ve innez zalimıne ba´duhüm evliyaü ba´d vallahü veliyyül müttekıyn

“They will be of no use to thee in the sight of God: it is only Wrong-doers (that stand as) protectors, one to another: but God is the Protector of the Righteous”

هَٰذَا بَصَٰٓئِرُ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدࣰ ى وَرَحۡمَةࣱ لِّقَوۡمࣲ يُوقِنُونَ ﴿٢٠﴾

Haza besairu lin nasi ve hüdev ve rahmetül li kavmiy yukınun

“These are clear evidences to men and a Guidance and Mercy to those of assured Faith”

أَمۡ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجۡتَرَحُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن نَّجۡعَلَهُمۡ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَوَآءࣰ مَّحۡيَاهُمۡ وَمَمَاتُهُمۡۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُونَ ﴿٢١﴾

Em hasibel lezınecterahus seyyiati en nec´alehüm kellezıne amenu ve amilus salihati sevaem mahyahüm ve mematühüm sae ma yahkümun

“What! Do those who seek after evil ways think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe and do righteous deeds,- that equal will be their life and their death? Ill is the judgment that they make”

وَخَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَلِتُجۡزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفۡسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يُظۡلَمُونَ ﴿٢٢﴾

Ve halekallahüs semavati vel erda bil hakkı ve li tücza küllü nefsim bima kesebet ve hüm la yuzlemun

“God created the heavens and the earth for just ends, and in order that each soul may find the recompense of what it has earned, and none of them be wronged”

أَفَرَءَيۡتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ وَأَضَلَّهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمࣲ وَخَتَمَ عَلَىٰ سَمۡعِهِۦ وَقَلۡبِهِۦ وَجَعَلَ عَلَىٰ بَصَرِهِۦ غِشَٰوَةࣰ فَمَن يَهۡدِيهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾

Feraeyte menittehaze ilahehu hevahü ve edallehüllahü ala ılmiv ve hateme ala sem´ıhı ve kalbihı ve ceale ala besarihı ğışaveh fe mey yehdıhi mim ba´dillah e fe la tezekkerun

“Then seest thou such a one as takes as his god his own vain desire? God has, knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart (and understanding), and put a cover on his sight. Who, then, will guide him after God (has withdrawn Guidance)? Will ye not then receive admonition”

وَقَالُواْ مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا ٱلدُّنۡيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحۡيَا وَمَا يُهۡلِكُنَآ إِلَّا ٱلدَّهۡرُۚ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍۖ إِنۡ هُمۡ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ ﴿٢٤﴾

Ve kalu ma hiye illa hayatüned dünya nemutü ve nahya ve ma yühliküna illed dehr ve ma lehüm bi zalike min ılm in hüm illa yezunun

“And they say: "What is there but our life in this world? We shall die and we live, and nothing but time can destroy us." But of that they have no knowledge: they merely conjecture”

وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتࣲ مَّا كَانَ حُجَّتَهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُواْ ٱئۡتُواْ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿٢٥﴾

Ve iza tütla aleyhim ayatüna beyyinatim ma kane huccetehüm illa en kalü´tu bi abaina in küntüm sadikıyn

“And when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them their argument is nothing but this: They say, "Bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true”

قُلِ ٱللَّهُ يُحۡيِيكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ يَجۡمَعُكُمۡ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ﴿٢٦﴾

Kullillahü yuhyıküm sümme yümıtüküm sümme yecmeuküm ila yevmil kıyameti la raybe fıhi ve lakinne ekseran nasi la ya´lemun

“Say: "It is God Who gives you life, then gives you death; then He will gather you together for the Day of Judgment about which there is no doubt": But most men do not understand”

وَلِلَّهِ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَيَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوۡمَئِذࣲ يَخۡسَرُ ٱلۡمُبۡطِلُونَ ﴿٢٧﴾

Ve lillahi mülküs semavati vel ard ve yevme tekumüs saatü yevmeiziy yahserul mübtılun

“To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and the Day that the Hour of Judgment is established,- that Day will the dealers in Falsehood perish”

وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةࣲ جَاثِيَةࣰۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةࣲ تُدۡعَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ كِتَٰبِهَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ تُجۡزَوۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ﴿٢٨﴾

Ve tera külle ümmetin casiyeten küllü ümmetin tüd´a ila kitabiha elyevme tüczevne ma küntüm ta´melun

“And thou wilt see every sect bowing the knee: Every sect will be called to its Record: "This Day shall ye be recompensed for all that ye did”

هَٰذَا كِتَٰبُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيۡكُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسۡتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ﴿٢٩﴾

Haza kitabuna yentıku aleyküm bil hakk inna künna nestensihu ma küntüm ta´melun

“This Our Record speaks about you with truth: For We were wont to put on Record all that ye did”

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَيُدۡخِلُهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ فِي رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ ﴿٣٠﴾

Fe emmelzıne amenu ve amilus salihati fe yüdhılühüm rabbühüm fı rametih zalike hüvel fevzül mübın

“Then, as to those who believed and did righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them to His Mercy that will be the achievement for all to see”

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَفَلَمۡ تَكُنۡ ءَايَٰتِي تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرۡتُمۡ وَكُنتُمۡ قَوۡمࣰ ا مُّجۡرِمِينَ ﴿٣١﴾

Ve emmellezıne keferu e fe lem tekün ayatı tütla aleyküm festekbertüm ve küntüm kavmen mücrimın

“But as to those who rejected God, (to them will be said): "Were not Our Signs rehearsed to you? But ye were arrogant, and were a people given to sin”

وَإِذَا قِيلَ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهَا قُلۡتُم مَّا نَدۡرِي مَا ٱلسَّاعَةُ إِن نَّظُنُّ إِلَّا ظَنࣰّ ا وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُسۡتَيۡقِنِينَ ﴿٣٢﴾

Ve iza kıyle inne va´dellahi hakkuv ves saatü la raybe fıha kultüm ma nedrı mes saatü in nezunnü illa zannev ve ma nahnü bi müsteykının

“And when it was said that the promise of God was true, and that the Hour- there was no doubt about its (coming), ye used to say, 'We know not what is the hour: we only think it is an idea, and we have no firm assurance”

وَبَدَا لَهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ﴿٣٣﴾

Ve beda lehüm seyyiatü ma amilu ve haka bihim ma kanu bihı yestehziun

“Then will appear to them the evil (fruits) of what they did, and they will be completely encircled by that which they used to mock at”

وَقِيلَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ نَنسَىٰكُمۡ كَمَا نَسِيتُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هَٰذَا وَمَأۡوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ ﴿٣٤﴾

Ve kıylel yevme nensaküm kema nesıtüm likae yevmiküm haza ve me´vakümün naru ve ma leküm min nasırın

“It will also be said: "This Day We will forget you as ye forgot the meeting of this Day of yours! and your abode is the Fire, and no helpers have ye”

ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذۡتُمۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوࣰ ا وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۚ فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡرَجُونَ مِنۡهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ ﴿٣٥﴾

Zaliküm bi ennekümüttehaztüm ayatıllahi hüzüvev ve ğarratkümül hayatüd dünya felyevme la yuhracune minha ve la hüm yüsta´tebun

“This, because ye used to take the Signs of God in jest, and the life of the world deceived you:" (From) that Day, therefore, they shall not be taken out thence, nor shall they be received into Grace”

فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَرَبِّ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿٣٦﴾

Fe lillahil hamdü rabbis semavati ve rabbil erdı rabbil alemın

“Then Praise be to God, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth,- Lord and Cherisher of all the Worlds”

وَلَهُ ٱلۡكِبۡرِيَآءُ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ﴿٣٧﴾

Ve lehül kibriyaü fis semavati vel erdı ve hüvel azızül hakım

“To Him be glory throughout the heavens and the earth: and He is Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom”
