Dua After Dhuhr Prayer

Explanation
This is a short dua recited after the Dhuhr prayer. It asks for the beginning, middle and end of the day to pass in goodness.
Dua Text
اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ أَوَّلَ يَوْمِنَا هٰذَا صَلَاحًا وَأَوْسَطَهُ فَلَاحًا وَآخِرَهُ نَجَاحًا
Transliteration
Allahumma-j’al awwala yawmina hadha salahan wa awsatahu falahan wa akhirahu najahan.
Meaning
O Allah! Make the beginning of this day of ours goodness, its middle salvation and its end success.
What Is Asked in This Dua
In this short dua, the servant divides the day he is in into three parts and asks Allah for a separate blessing for each. For the beginning of the day he asks for goodness and righteousness; that is, he wishes to start the day with good deeds and a pure intention. For the middle of the day he asks for salvation; at midday, when work becomes busiest and a person can get lost in worldly affairs, he asks to attain success and to be saved from troubles and mistakes.
For the end of the day he asks for success and deliverance; he wishes that by the time evening comes, what he has done will end in goodness and the day will not have been wasted. In this way the servant entrusts every part of the day to Allah’s grace. The dua carries the awareness that not even a single day can be completed in goodness without Allah’s help, and it is stated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ persisted in this dua.
When and How to Recite
This dua is recited after the Dhuhr prayer. Its meaning suits the middle of the day, when you take stock of the hours since morning and ask for goodness in the hours that remain. No specific number of recitations is mentioned in the source.
It is preferable to be in a state of wudu and to reflect on its meaning. Since the book states that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ persisted in this dua and recommended it to his ummah, it is beautiful to make it a habit after the Dhuhr prayer every day. Those who find the Arabic difficult can also make the dua with its meaning in their own language.
Virtue
It is stated that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ persisted in this dua and recommended it to his ummah as well.
