What Is Asked in This Dua
This text is a salawat, that is, sending blessings and peace upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The servant asks Allah to send blessings upon the Prophet and mentions the Prophet with three attributes: the physician and remedy of hearts, the well-being and healing of bodies, and the light and radiance of eyes. These attributes describe the effect on a person of the revelation and the Sunnah that the Prophet brought.
Being the physician of hearts means healing the illnesses of the heart, that is, spiritual troubles such as arrogance, envy and heedlessness. Being the healing of bodies means that the path he brought gives a person well-being. Being the light of eyes means granting the ability to see the truth. While reciting this salawat, the servant both shows their love for the Prophet and hopes for these three kinds of healing for themselves. As stated in the description, this text is both a salawat and a dua for healing; healing is asked from Allah, and the Prophet is the means.
